rainforests and beautiful beaches. Its main tourism product is ecotourism because 25 percent of Costa Rica is protected by various conservation efforts. Costa Rica is a natural bridge between North and
South America and ia bordered by two oceans. This results in a unique density of flora and fauna.
Costa Rica's 735 miles of shore line is a hit to beach-lovers. Each beach has a beauty and character all its own from secluded to fully
developed resort properties with all-inclusive vacation packages. Most beach resorts are located on the Pacific side in the areas of Guanacaste, Papagayo and Puntarenas. These areas cater to beach lovers,
divers and fishermen. The country is small enough that staying in these areas does not present a problem for those wanting to experience the ecology and natural wonders of Costa Rica.
The country's national parks and reserves are easily accessible to visitors and offer a stunning variety of landscapes and natural
experiences. From active volcanoes to touring the rainforest canopy in an aerial tram to bird watching to white-water rafting. Costa Rica is home to 850 species of birds. In fact Costa Rica contains
about 5 percent of the known animal species on earth and more varieties of birds and butterflies than all of North America.
The only down side to Costa Rica is its 2 season climate. From May to November is the rainy season. Referred to as the green
season it is a time of persistent misty rain. From December to April is the dry season when the landscape takes up a drier look and the rivers are not as full. This tends to condense the travel season to a
few months unless one does not mind the rain. Anytime you go you will experience one of Costa Rica's greatest assets tis people. Known as Ticos they are renown as a friendly and well educated people who
