Riviera Maya and Playa del Carmen
The point of arrival is Cancun International Airport.  To the south of Cancun, the Riviera Maya offers a unique and different experience. Riviera Maya can by covered via the coastal highway which links the city of Cancun with Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Coba and continuing on all the way to Beliz. Ferries also depart from Playa del Carmen and linking the mainland with the island of Cozumel.

With its wide expanse of beaches and proximity to Mayan cultural sites, it is the old world meeting the new. Thousand-year old Mayan ruins lie within sight of luxurious all inclusive resorts.  Riviera Maya offers a more laid back vacation. Things are more spread out, the pace is much, much slower and the resorts have more to offer. Spend your day relaxing beside the Caribbean Sea, take a  walk on the powder-white sand beaches, swim in the clearest water in the world or plan a visit to the Mayan ruins. Later in the day visit the nearby town of Playa del Carmen, with shops featuring local art and handicrafts. Take the ferry to the island of Cozumel and spend the day exploring. For Golfers there are a variety of challenging courses to choose from. Almost all the  resorts here are all-inclusive, offering all meals, drinks, tips, and entertainment at one price, an attractive option for budget-conscious travelers and families.

The heart of the Riviera Maya is the city of Playa del Carmen.
Here you will find all the services and support that you may require during your stay in the Riviera Maya.   Here you will find drug stores, grocery stores, restaurants and shopping. At sunset it is fun to walk along Playa del Carmen's  Fifth Avenue which is filled with stores and boutiques.  Remember you have to bargain to get the best price.  It is much fun and you don't want to miss while in Playa del Carmen and the Riviera Maya.

Riviera Maya, located along the coast of the Yucatan peninsula, includes Tulum, the famous Mayan archaeological site. There are other small towns like Chemuyil and Akumal. The Riviera Maya is excellent for a relaxing vacation and to enjoy the beauty of the Mexican Caribbean.

Popular activities include relaxing all day in a hammock beside the Caribbean Sea or walk the powder-white sand beaches that stay cool as they reflect the heat of the tropical sun. Uncover the ancient culture of the Mayans and visit ruins of Tulum that reveal their lives and beliefs. Afterwards, cool off with a swim in a cenote, a freshwater pool bringing water from underground limestone caverns to the surface.

The Riviera Maya is a place for adventure and the fun activities of diving, snorkeling, jungle walks, underground rivers, cenotes, caverns, beautiful white sandy beaches, bays, mangroves, and inlets to explore and get to know.A vacation package to Playa del Carmen and the Rivera Maya is a great way to relax and have some fun.
